Black-necked Cranes arrive in Phobjikha |

Three black-necked cranes, a family with a juvenile, have arrived at their wintering habitat in Phobjikha today at around 2: 00PM from their summer habitats in Tibet.
Over 300 cranes arrived in Phobjikha valley in winter of 2007-2008.

As the nation prepares to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and 100 years of Monarchy, the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Royal Society for Protection of Nature declared November 1st as “Clean Bhutan Day”. However, the event for this year was observed on 28th October to enable us to prepare for the forthcoming grand celebrations across the Kingdom.
The event will be observed annually on Novermber 1 to ensure a Clean Bhutan.

November 1 declared as "Clean Bhutan Day" |

As the nation prepares to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and 100 years of Monarchy, the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Royal Society for Protection of Nature declares November 1st as “Clean Bhutan Day”. The day will be observed to ensure a Clean Bhutan and an atmosphere of purity during the auspicious coronation of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and to inspire individuals and communities to collectively participate and contribute to a “Clean Bhutan” at the time of this occasion and thereafter.
