29 october 2009 - The first group of black-necked crane, comprising two adults and a juvenile arrived in Phobjikha today at around 3:10 PM. It was on the same date (October 29, 2008) that RSPN recorded the first arrival of cranes in 2008.

 ANNOUNCEMENT October 29, 2009 - Clean Bhutan Day was initiated in 2008 prior to Coronation
and Centenary Celebrations with the approval from the Royal Government of Bhutan.
This
year, Clean Bhutan Day will be observed throughout the country on Sunday 1st
November. The Royal Society for Protection of Nature urges every citizen and
residents of Bhutan to participate in contributing to ‘CLEAN BHUTAN':

Climate Change Sensitisation Workshop |

 26 October 2009 - The Royal Society for Protection of Nature , in collaboration with Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) and National Environment Commission organised one day sensitisation workshop on Climate Change on 26 October 2009. The event, held at Taj Tashi in Thimphu saw various stakeholders' active participation.
