The JKERC Library is a modern reference library designed to support the work of environmental researchers of any age. The Library provides world-class digital connectivity, extensive print and electronic reference material, and the latest published works relevant to environmental research in Bhutan.
The JKERC collection contains materials on a range of topics, with a special focus on Himalayan environmental issues. Coverage includes subjects such as environmental policy, law, technology, climate change adaptation, eco-tourism, natural resource management, soil science, urban ecology etc. The Library will also provide resources on management and advocacy to help support citizens who wish to lobby the newly democratic government.
The Library is the only institution in Bhutan with access to EBSCO’s Environment Complete, a digital database with electronic full-text access to over 900 international environmental journals and 200 reference books. We also have access to the Research for Life Databases: OARE, HINARI and AGORA.
IUCN and ICIMOD have both chosen the ERC Library as their depository library in Bhutan.
The RSPN Library staff are available to assist researchers and provide a quality reference service.
Please contact our Assitant Librarian, Sonam Rinzin at [email protected] for any assistance.
Initial membership with the library and access to its printed resources will be free to all; full access to its advanced digital resources will require nominal charges for future sustainability.
