Based on the
exploratory study on climate change and diseases sensitive to climate change in
Bhutan by RSPN in 2006, an article got published in Tiempo issue no 71.
The
article highlights the main impacts of climate change on the health of the
population of Bhutan.
With expected rise in morbidity and mortality from extreme weather and climate
events and an expansion of vector-borne and water-related diseases, it considers the need of the timely health
sector's primary role in emergency preparedness for damage control and
participation in every
area vulnerable to the
adverse effects of climate change.
