2nd June and 4th June are two environmentally important days in Bhutan. The Coronation Anniversary (2nd June) of His Majesty the Fourth King is observed as Social Forestry Day. Thousands of trees are planted by communities across Bhutan. The Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, Royal Patron of RSPN, (4th June) is celebrated in conjunction with the World Environment Day (5 June).
On the occasion of the above events, RSPN is pleased to announce the result of Art and Essay writing competition held among various categories, starting from Pre-Primary to class XII. Though this art and essay competition, RSPN hopes to promote environmental conciousness and action among the Bhutanese, in particular, the younger generation.
ANNOUNCEMENT As part of creating awareness and sensitizing youths on Climate Change and its impact, the Royal Society for Protection of Nature will organize a theme-based Art and Essay Competition in 2014 for students. The last date of submission of entries of art and essay is 17th May, 2014.
