This society first embarked on the climate change program under the Capacity Strengthening in the Least Developed Countries (LCD's) for Adaptation to Climate Change (CLACC) in 2005 with support from the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), UK. Outcomes A comprehensive research report titled “Bhutan - Health and Climate Change: An exploratory study on climate change and diseases sensitive to climate change” was published as an outcome of the program. As part of the publishing the report, several coordination meeting, consultation and workshop were carried out with concerned stakeholders to incorporate additional information. How can you participate? At present, the society in the process of establishing a panel of climate change readers whose role would contribute in addressing the climate issues in Bhutan. The first 30 respondents will be selected on the panel. If you are interested, please follow this link for more information. The society is also in the process of building up an additional corner on climate change in its existing library. We can provide the limited collection of climate change publication to all RSPN members as well as general public for reference only. As we grow up in our collection, we are targeting to set up a bigger Climate Change Information Resource Centre (CCIRC) within the main library. Future plan Very shortly, this society will be launching an open forum on climate change issues in Bhutan where every responsible citizen of this country can contribute. Keep browsing our website www.rspnbhutan.org for the launch. |
