A team from RSPN, led by the Executive Director made a courtesy visit to Zhemgang Dzongkhang. The team met with Dasho Dzongdag and relevant sector heads of the Dzongkhang on October 6, 2021. The team also visited Zhemgang Forest Division and Rural Development Training Centre, Zhemgang Bhutan.
The objective of the visit is to solicit continued support and collaboration from the Dzongkhag and collaborating sectors in the implementation of our new projects in Dzongkhag. RSPN will be implementing the Project ‘Develop Ecosystem-based solutions for Managing Biodiversity Landscapes in Bhutan’ along Punatsangchhu and Mangdechhu river basins with a special focus on strengthening the conservation efforts of the Critically Endangered White-bellied Heron (WBH), through community engagement and livelihood enhancement activities.
The meeting concluded on fruitful discussions with assured commitment received from Dasho Dzongda and the Sector Heads for technical backstopping and implementing the project collaboratively. Likewise, RSPN is also committed to collaborating with the Dzongkhag.
